![]() Interesting shot of the 395.. I can see out while seated at the chart table on a 435 but it does look as though the windows are higher in that shot |

Most antifouls that I've seen used are soft enough to rub off with your hand. Any sort of friction on sand will go right through it very quickly. I know there are some really hard antifouls but I think they are very expensive. I really don't know about the visibility out of the 395. The windows certainly look too high in that photo but maybe the seat backs are low. I just find it difficult to believe that the smaller boat has higher windows. |

Does anyone have any updates on the Lagoon 400? Price? Delivery date? Options? Pro/Con?

My broker sent me the CAD video of the 40 and a price of $395k. His comment in the Email was "I expect the 2010 models to be sold out before the end of 2008", which leads me to believe the first delivery will be 2010. It kind of looks like a cross between the 44 and the 38 which makes sense. 3 cabin/3 head config. I don't like the 2 private smaller heads and would prefer 1 larger one on the guest side. The smooth lines of the ridged bimini to salon make more sense to me than a "window" area of 10" on other cats to see from the helm although the exposed helm presents some issues but much better than the isolation/separation of the larger cat. But what do I know, I'm a newbie.

Broker told me they dropped the base price to $315,000 USD on the first 5 boats (one was still available). That sure makes it competitive with a lot of used 410's.

Just receintly I had chartered FP in effort to see differences in workmanship and fit out between Lagoon and FP. Well, also to have abit of good time as well. They are too very agresive in their pricing at the moment and to be honest as boats are still considered luxury items I believe it will be some time before things pick up and we will see prices going up. So, I will sit for a while, see how things progress, how many boats come out of charter market (they will as the squeeze gets harder) and maybe along the way I will find my bargain.
Having said that, 315K does sound better than a lot of 2nd hand boats out there, even if taking into account aditional 50-60K to fit it out. |
