Just for Fun: Match the Cat to the Car

I was thinking about what Cat brand would be if they were Cars. Here is my list. Feel free to disagree or suggest your own pairings (or add anything missing). This is just for fun, don't take it to seriously

Gemini: Kia. (Small, solid, under appreciated).
Lagoons/Leopards: Ford Taurus/ Toyota Camry. (Solid everyday car)
FP: Mazda 6 (Solid with a touch of performance)
Antares: Volvo XC60 (A safe and overpriced tank, a bit dated)
St Francis: Same as Antares
Bali: Lexus/Mercedes C Class (luxury with a touch of performance)
Alpha 42: Audi A4 (they look cool, they are probably cool, no one I know owns one)
Cantana: BMW 3 Series (Performance with a touch of luxury)
Outremer: Porche/Corvette (Pure speed)
Atlantic: Ferrari (Better know how to drive it or it will flip)
Gun-Boat: Lamborghini (Scary! )

Re: Just for Fun: Match the Cat to the Car

After seeing the Bali I would match it to the Ford Pinto, very dangerous. Never seen so many lethal sharp corners in my life. Not sure if the performance will be there.

Re: Just for Fun: Match the Cat to the Car

We always refer to our Gemini as the VW Bug of cats.
- Built forever.
- Tons of them out there.
- Not a shiny sports car/goldplate yatch
- Simple system that are easy to work on rather than fancy gimmicks.

Interestingly both are now in a future generation that has almost nothing to do with the original design except looking vaguely similar.

Re: Just for Fun: Match the Cat to the Car

Gunboat = Zenvo (Bugatti Veyron is far too reliable!)
Antares = Morgan (built well, holds its value, die hard followers but a bit dated)
Lagoon = Ford Mondeo (nothing to wow about but loads sold as they do everything ok)

:-)

Late 70s Stiletto = late 70s Chevy Stingray. More slick than a real racing machine, but fast too.

Maybe you want to pick something that doesn't have a chassis made of wood!

Re: Just for Fun: Match the Cat to the Car

This thread is making me learn about unknown (to me) car brands. Zenvo, Morgan, Delorians... Although I just checked the Delorians and some 80s models are for sale for 45K+? Will Balance Cat have that kind of upsale value? :-)

Morgan Aero - close enough :-)
The Aero Coupe is an advanced supercar designed for practical long distance touring (Antares possibly). The strong and rigid vehicle is inspired by the GT3 Aero that has enjoyed a number of racing victories. The enclosed cockpit (definately Antares) of the Coupe body style takes the Aero experience onto the next level in terms of comfort and practicality with a large and secure boot in the rear for luggage.*
Constructed entirely from aluminium (close enough maybe :-) ) which is a third of the weight of steel, the Morgan Aero Coupe combines performance with environmental responsibility and a high level of safety.(as above)

I definitely think the Antares is like the Morgan Aero. Both have that "classic" look that would make me feel old. Maybe when I get wiser I'll appreciate the classic lines a bit more.

I would separate Ford Taurus (newer, equally disposable version of the Pinto, without the flaming gas tank) from the Toyota Camry (easily the most popular car on the road, they run until you wreck them) they are both 4 door sedans but polar opposites in terms of reliability and resale value.

I propose amending the list to this:

Gemini: Kia. (Small, solid, under appreciated).
Lagoons: Toyota Minivan (everyone snickers at them while the owners laugh in comfort)
Wildcat 35: Ford Taurus (surprisingly roomy for it's size, price falls faster than the parts off of it)
Leopards: Toyota Camry.
