Looks like a Privilege to me, but whatever it is it's been completely demolished and still floating pretty high.

Hmm, floating pretty high even without aft watertight compartments. Sluggo should take note. ;-)

Wow, the poor thing is really damaged! Do you know what happened? That's a huge section of hull gone. I don't know if it was a privilege, but it sure is a disaster!

Re: Is this a Privilege

Good grief! Hard to imagine what could cause such destruction. I wonder if the high floating level is due to the engines and rig being gone? Hard to see what would be holding up the weight of inboards if they were there.

Re: Is this a Privilege

I see why you would say Privilege with the big central nacelle between the nets . What a mess . Maybe it got hit by the nonexistent storm off Hawaii then dragged by the 10 knot current to where the super smart sharks started attacking it .
Joking aside I struggle to understand how the damaged was done . bounced across something perhaps ?

Re: Is this a Privilege

It was sighted by a cruise ship of the Turks And Caicos. Guessing an overturned hurricane boat that was possibly run over.

smj: That's a reasonable hypothesis til when/if we figure out what really happened.

I guess it doesn't really matter what happened, the outcome to me is impressive.

Doesn't say much for the boat's hull integrity, but great flotation.

Yeah, lots of hull missing...impressive that its still afloat.

Hmmm...wonder how many hurricane trashed hulls are adrift out there now...something to think about on the late watch! [emoji32]

I double clicked on the image, then clicked again until it got to be almost full screen.
ALL THREE hulls are gone in their middles.

They might have gotten high centered on a reef.

Almost certainly. Looks like a 90s model as the bow is plumb on 435/465 and later series.

Not enough left to give a definitive answer but my guess would be a 45 or 48.

Seen near Rum Cay, Bahamas recently. Hate to hit that at night. Looks like a freighter ran over the back 2/3rds.....
