None on the list - I would get a Chris White Atlantic. These things get me going like no other cat out there.

I feel very privaged right now... I spent the night on "Kanina" ASA water sailing">Blue Water Sailing School w/ Capt. Alex Hill... we were morred up at Hope Harbor... and we were parked right next to this AWSOME LOOKING CAT!!!!! Look like a cat from a James Bond movie... you could go anywhere in world with it! A "Cat Submarine" is what I called it... asked a few... no one knew what it was... AND NOW I DO!

i wouldn't think it is cheaper to buy in europe, given the exchange rate situation.

I checked seawind but if I had the cash you speak of.......I'd keep more than half and sail on a shuttleworth design rocketship!! somewhere on youtube is a short video of a tek50 pulling a waterskier.

With $400k, I'd build an Oram 48C, hire someone to do all the crappy jobs, and have $100k left over to go cruising.

Mike, I see you're from Denver - me too... only CO not NC. We're also in the market for a cruising cat - only in the 41-49' range. You failed to specify if you will be chartering (which I assume based on the boats on your poll). Seawind was the only one of your choices which is not a fat-pig charter boat - i like their new 1250 model. Other than that, I suppose the Leoperd is the closest to workable.
If you're gonna chater then re-sell it - then name brand is important ... consider the others.

I know they are not listed, but up against the likes of Seawind the new FP Lipari 41 or the Orana 44 are very comfortable and capable cruising cats. In my experience on both types the FP a more capable open ocean cruiser.

Just what I wanted to hear! Funny thing after my ASA school in the Bahamas I had learned alot. Especially about Yanmar. Came back home and was checking the oil in my John Deere Tractor... guess what motor they use... Yanmar! JD will run forever!
