Nice boat. Of course there are those here who would insist that it is overloaded - the bottom of the transoms appear to be slightly immersed. Real experts can tell this just from photo's you know.

She seems to be sailing (more or less) on her lines, to me. I don’t see any stern "squat".
The slightly deeper immersion of the starboard hull, may be a catamaran’s simulacrum of "heeling".

To me she appears to be in perfect balance and making good speeds with a light wind if I compare her with a Fastcat 435 in light winds , looks very light loaded

I don't for one second think she's overloaded either. But according to certain "experts" the slightest hint of a drop of water on a transom equals an overloaded boat.

Actually gentlemen and experts.....there isn't hull squat or starboard hull submersion. It is an optical illusion. At that low camera angle and distance you are seeing a following hull wave, that is probably 2 foot behind the hull, making it look like the water is over the transom. But, it's always good to get expert opinions.

I saw one of these cats in South Beach Miami. I like the idea, but have troubles in my simple

mind thinking about working sheets in snotty weather going to weather. I know sometimes at anchor on Imagine the house blocks the breeze. We have added 2 perforated screens that can fold down to the traveller, or ties to the back stays to extend the shade. When folded down they catch the smallest breeze, and make life much cooler

. Also when sailing, and tied down they can block the sun from burning your legs when it is rising, or sinking.

I agree that when pointing high into breaking waves, it may get a little uncomfortable in a forward cockpit, requiring bearing off a little or going inside. As we all know, everything is a compromise designing any boat, but I personally think the view and feeling of total boat control you get with a forward cockpit for the rest of the time would make it worth it. Also have a inside wheel in side a warm cabin, and still having great 360 degree view, on a cold wet night of open ocean sailing can be heaven.

Some Atlantic owners have had your exact concern about getting shade.

In my mind's eye I can see all the wonderful things about the forward cockpit. Vision is a most stimulating sense, and that forward cockpit has to have many thrills. I wish I could have all three stations. I only have two, but we manage....BEST WISH & ENJOY

This is my dream boat! Still on the drawing board, but hope to start building in a few months.

49 ft. 6.8 tons lightship. 160 m2 sail area including the masts.
3 steering positions. Forcockpit, aft cockpit and in the saloon.

2 unstayed wingmasts, that can rotate 360 degrees.

Calculated the Performance Index to around 1.0, i.e. windspeed sailing on a reach at half load (1.6 tons) Will be interesting to see if the theory works.
