Hunter - Solar Panel Replacement, Worth it?

I'd like to add solar to my Hunter 410 and start small by replacing the old solar panel that was orig equipment to many Hunters in the 36+ foot range. Hunter Owners Forum / Parts has a replacement option. Anyone tried it and is there a better option out there? Part # 830125, Solar Panel, 30 watts, in-deck $299.95

You've posted this in the multihull forum.

The Hunter forum might be a better option.

But there's certainly better value available than 30 Watts for $300!

You sure the original isn't working? Mine still works. If you don't think it's working did you check the fuse and the controller (buried back behind where the radio is). BTW - it isn't really even needed IMO.

I've been wondering the exact same thing. Curious whether anyone has replaced that panel with a different aftermarket panel for trickle charging.

Re: Hunter - Solar Panel Replacement, Worth it?

As mentioned, 300$ for 30 watts is awfully pricey .
Time for update with a controller.
