How to deploy/retrieve 2nd anchor on FP

I have a FP Lipari, and last year on a few occasions had to lay out a 2nd anchor, which I considered was a p.i.t.a. There has to be a better way of doing this, so I am looking for help.
For those not familiar with the FP anchoring setup, the primary anchor is deployed from the locker, not the bow cross beam (pic 1) with the bridle connected to each bow (pic 2). The roller for the 2nd anchor, I presume, is mounted on the bow cross beam, pic 3. Presently the 2nd anchor is in the locker with rode consisting of 12 m chain and the rest rope (pic 4).
Some specific questions are:
Can the 2nd anchor be "permanently" mounted so I don't have to drag it out of the locker when needed? (You will see from pic 3 that there is no deck behind the bow roller.)
If I drop the 2nd anchor after the primary anchor has been deployed, as I did last year, how is it best to retrieve them? Because getting the bridle off the primary chain tends to get "crossed"over the rode from the 2nd anchor.
How best to manage the chain & rope rode combination on the windlass?
Advice on the whole process is appreciated.

Re: How to deploy/retrieve 2nd anchor on FP

Following. This has been discussed before and there is no easy answer. You certainly can keep a second anchor on the cross beam, but it will add unwanted weight for 99% of the time it is up there. Our primary sits in the roller on the cross beam with nothing but net behind it - no problem. Best way to deploy second anchor with our setup, which is similar - we don't even have a second roller - is to use a short rode and attach it to the main rode so there is only one rode coming into the boat.

Your seagull striker roller is only meant to be used for a mooring line pulled in and attached inside the anchor locker cleat.

You would never want to leave and anchor sitting on the seagull striker roller, just line.

We deploy/retrieve the 2nd anchor from a dinghy and use the seagull striker roller just to bring the line into the anchor locker and tie off on that locker cleat.
