pirate Hirondelle 29ft

Hi,
Can anyone here share their knowledge on Hirondelle catamarans?
We are thinking of buying a 29 footer.
Thank you ( in advance ) .
Dennis & Sharon.

Re: Hirondelle 29ft

Yes , I owned a mk 111 and it was a really great little cat .
It ws re introduced years later as the "Family " but this was stretched to 26 ft x 12 ft and even offered with an Aerorig .

at 6ft 4" I always viewed it as a temporary cat , but did a lot of coastal cruising on the south coast of England .
limitations ?
tricky to steer into a berth as my particular boat had a fixed position
9.9 hp Yamaha so could not be steered well at mooring speeds ,

headroom , great in the hulls but hands and knees across the bridgedeck !

All in all a lovely sailing mini cat , I would highly recommend it .
