The link works. Try it again and post back if it fails you again.

As George says, it is a magnificent yacht for the money. It was too much for us right now though.

Three couples could two-step around the salon and a few more out in the cockpit. The side decks, foredeck, and coach roof are clear and expansive. The tramps would accommodate a half-dozen, or so, sprawling teenagers. In its current state, I would describe the interior as a blank canvas. There is nothing fancy going on in there. It has been recently white-washed. However, the storage capability was incredible. Every nook and cranny had useful, compartmentalized, storage. The true queen forward berths are surrounded fore and toward center with large deck storage. There are ports that open into those storage areas which would support increased ventilation, both for the berths and the deck storage. That seemed like a good thing to me. Plus, you could hide all your servants in there in case of boarding by the coasties. Under the mattresses was about a three inch space where you could hide your stacks of cash. The entire bed! Stacks and stacks of cash. It boggles the mind. There is a head in the master and the port aft engine compartment also sports a head. Some people would call it a head. But, as a gearhead, I was smitten with this engine berth. The engine sits on its mount in such a way as to allow just wonderful access all around. It could only be more accessible if it was on a turntable. (A 360 degree rotating saildrive!! You heard it hear first folks!!) The starboard hull currently is just a big empty spot with a ginormous hole in the bottom. I was getting all misty eyed imagining a glistening new Yanmar perched in there though.

It seemed like a very solid craft. The hull repair looked very good and is not painted. There is one spot of bare wood under the deck about two inches long and a half inch wide that should be sealed in. That's all I found. The swim platform looked sturdy. The owner has everything that came out of the boat in a storage trailer nearby.

Another member, BoatGuy30, has offered his services as an experienced wooden boat....guy

I hope that worked.

I hope this helps.

Re: Heres a real deal

That helps a lot I talked to the owner and may fly down to look at it . He is e-mailing me some pic's . Does any one know a reputable boat yard that could replace the engines and sail drives . I am guessing they would be around 10k each . The boat is very sparce as far as electronics and would need radar GPS, chart plotter, depth ,wind and I guess solar panels plus water maker . Rough estimate maybe another 20 k and then 10k for interior. Does that sound like a reasonable estimate ??

Re: Heres a real deal

Its in a boatyard- 20K for engines /saildrives ok to buy-add installation costsof 5k Interior OK 10k which includes new electronics--so 60k boat + sales tax of 4k + 20k engins +5 k now at 89k +10k interior;; now at 99k''' dont forget boatyard and sanding and painting bottomso say thats 5k more now 104k whoops--the topsides need painting so add2k now 106k then theres the work of putting all the stuff removed to do the repair in the storage (remember this boat was sunk by a hurricane in the Bahamas then towed a long way that labor is a lot..... so you have a older wood previosly sunk 42ft Catamaran that costs you $106,000 and a hell of a lot of work. Are you happy???

What's up George? You're the one trying to shove this boat down people's throats then this? Don't get me wrong I agree with your cost analysis. Still a nice boat.

Re: Heres a Real Deal

$106K for a 42' cat with lots of new stuff is a deal. I wouldn't walk away. Get it put back together and it's worth 50K to 100K more.

I agree. You guys are being too demanding. This is a liveaboard/cruising opportunity at a price that is tough to meet in the Catamaran market.

It's not a new Lagoon, but it's no beaten-up Iroqouis either.

Electronics is not what makes a boat. At 42', and at this price, this boat appears ready for weekend and day sailing at a minimum, even if the hulls are a bit mushy. If the hulls are sound, then it's ready to make someone's cruising dream a reality - someone who does not want a $3000/mo boat payment.
