Hi, My name is Oscar, and I am a recovering monomaran sailor.....Almost 50 years with never more than one hull..... Just sold my Catalina 42. Long story, but the bottom line was that it was costing more than I could justify. Until the last kid goes off to college it's a trailer sailor. But..... I've discovered 55knots by land/20 knots by sea....... Looking for an F27 folding tri.......

Or you could make one yourself with a couple of hulls from somebodies no longer competitive hobie and a trailable drop keel.

Good choice. Comparatively easy to rig, a thrill to sail, and just enough room for a camping-style weekend. You'll need a fairly hefty tow vehicle. Leaving it in the water is a problem because the whole outsides of the amas will collect marine life when folded. So many were built that there is a pretty predictable used value. Small enough that replacing hardware is not exorbitant. keep it in a 9' slip. Go for it!

Got a half ton Suburban..... It has pulled a Catalina 250 and a 33 foot travel trailer. All set. It will live in the backyard here in Bethlehem. No marine growth there.

This is a link to the brand new 28 footer, but there are a number of 25 footers and 920's around.

I think the swing wing system is really neat, and faster to use than the F-boat system.

They are probably more expensive though...

Actually there is a Dragonfly 25 for sale close to here. Problem is that with even ama's folded it exceeds the road legal beam, thus requiring removal......not quick and easy like the F-boats.
