Yes Sos. I have never experienced that kind of motion except as you describe wind over tide and then not as severe as that... I just put it there to enquire if this is a 'normal' motion in modest conditions. In looking at his sail configuration and shape, I cant quite describe it but it seems a little loose...?

That hobby horsing has all the earmarks of the consequences of a powerboat wake. Look how it get worse, and then, eventually evens out.

I looked hard at the water in the video behind, and its difficult to be sure, however I dont see wake trails... I do agree that it does look like powerboat wake.
I presented it merely for enquiry as to whether or not this was an habitual situation on the HT.

Re: Heavenly Twins?

Hi....My name is Don Savage. I'm the creator of the video referenced in this topic and the owner of one of the HT's shown in the video, The Dash. It is hard to believe this video has been viewed over 15K times. One thing needs to be cleared up. Someone commented to me that the HT is "know" to "hobbyhorse", and referenced this video. This is not a true statement. To Contrail and Weavis.....you hit it on the head. You commented that "look, its a very light wind day....there are no waves anywhere else in the video" and that the vessel is probably being "hit by the wake of a large vessel".....and that is exactly what happened. Just crazy to think my little video could have such an impact, but I absolutely need to clear this up. A huge motor yacht came up the river at a high speed and threw up a very large wake and I was running right down the center of it....any other 26ft boat hitting it would be in trouble, but the HT takes it with no problem.

Re: Heavenly Twins?

Fwiw, we stayed aboard a friend's HT while doing some internal fiberglassing work on our previous boat. Don't know how it sails, but the accommodations were super, for a 26 footer.
