And most cats have "optional extra" cables between their bows so they can inflict maximum damage....

We also have swords fitted to our hubcaps....

BTW, Zeehag to save you trying to accuse me again - unless this incident happened in Australia, I have a pretty solid alibi. And strangely, there's no cables running between my bows.

That Catamaran should have not even had that much damage. Again, Catamarans are design to come out of a run over unscathed. Small scratches are ok as long as you can buff them out. That cat must not be CE rated. Oh well he did ok, but could have done better.

Re: have a question for catamaran owners

Probably just a fluke of the way they hit.

I hope you friend is able to get his boat fixed at the other guy's expense. Though I think for that to happen, the police needed to be called immediately. It would have been good if the guy could have been breathylized at the time too, then possibly his license could have been taken off him. No real way of proving he was drunk otherwise.

People who operate their boats while drunk need to be taken off the water.

Best of luck to all and hope steelie looks like new when completed.

Re: have a question for catamaran owners

Probably better for your friend the other guy wasn't breathylized then. Insurance companies will drop you like a hot potato if you were drunk at the time of an accident.

Re: have a question for catamaran owners

44--also at risk is his charter licensia--he had no mexicans on board during a charter, he did a hit and run, ouch-- so the conversation between cat man and victim went kinda ok but - i dont know if it will be perfect, but at least put back together.

the impact was from dead astern...

I think you should consider retracting your online comments that the guy was drunk as "speculation", unless you have specific information that he was. It sounds like this is headed into serious legal territory, and your statements here could be brought into court.

An unusual comment to say the least. What do you base that on?

Re: have a question for catamaran owners

the only legal territory this is headed to is the insurance claim on the cat's ins company--we have the necessary fotos of both boats, th affidvits from 2 mexican aptins that th anchor lights are functional, and only the drunk could not see them.

.LOL only one in banderas bay who could NOT see the lights was the lit up cat driver. sober????? rodlmao. the lights were exactly eye level with cat driver and he could not see them?????

Re: have a question for catamaran owners

Glad to hear that the owner/operator of the cat is putting in a claim on his insurance; while it will not make up for the injury, aggravation and the loss of time and enjoyment of his boat until it is repaired, it is better than nothing.
