I've seen cats that have this! and you are right.. they are MUCH easier to navigate than those stairs that are more like ladders. But, I had never really thought of it in terms of helping out Scott.. so this is a great hint..

I happened across this listing:

It seems to be built for someone in a wheel chair. Not that your husband needs this but maybe someone else lurking here may be interested. See the picture of the helm station. It looks like it raises and lowers for the handicapped to get in and out. Also has one stateroom cabin on the bridge deck level, off the salon. But the galley is down below.

I love the Home Depot comment as I spend way too much time there.

That is an interesting boat, for sure. I wish they had a "layout" shown. it looks like there is a cabin and a head up? is that what you are seeing as well? The only thing that looks like its down in the hull is the galley. but certainly an interesting one. I think perhaps they refit that to make it work?

Pictures look like the Stateroom/Cabin with toilet is up on the bridge deck level but better check with the broker.

I have looked at the Neel. I've been on it twice, actually. I don't want to offend anyone, because to each his own.. but, I really don't like it. So much of the space is wasted.. and the living quarters are so small. Since we will be live-aboards and will be having a steady stream of guests.. the catamaran's just work better for us.

Great Topic! Im 83 yo -just sold my 34' Trawler as it was boring to a sailor of 45 years ! Just bought a Gemini catamaran. im kinda disabled ::fake knees and shoulders + aging . Im going to rig the gemini for ease of use. Add windlass, electric head, use milwaulkee 1/2 drill on winches, hoist main from cockpit, small OB for dinky etc etc. Yippee!!!
