Gunboat International sues Chinese boatyard

Gunboat International sues Chinese boatyard | Trade Only Today

....seems to me I've heard this story too many times.

Always had a reluctance to doing boat business there,...too much unskilled labor, and no trust.

Re: Gunboat International sues Chinese boatyard

Gunboat was suppose to have an onsite quality control representative in China. Can't believe all the rhetoric from GB, seems like a pattern of using cheap labor. China, South Africa and now North Carolina all areas for cheap labor for one of the most expensive cats on the market.

Re: Gunboat International sues Chinese boatyard

There's an old proverb: He who plays with puppies gets peed on. Perhaps this is exactly what has happened with Gunboat and the Chinese. Perhaps not dotting all the "i's" and crossing all the "t's" according to the Chinese system of law, who knows.

Caveat emptor: Let the buyer beware.

People do what you inspect, not what you expect.

As an inspector I'm going to have use that one, it's wonderful.

Re: Gunboat International sues Chinese boatyard

I have inspected and audited a handful of Chinese manufacturers.
With 1 exception, any company that does business over there deserves the proper hosing they are going to get.
I don't believe there is an accurate translation for the word Integrity in Mandarin.

Here a picture of the production process of HH Cat in Xiamen, China...

They advertise themselfs on their facebook page following:

Quote:
"Built stronger and faster than any luxury cat ever made. More stable and comfortable than anything in its class.

Building catamarans with the ultimate synthesis of brains, beauty, and performance. The first in our line is the HH66, a Morrelli & Melvin designed performance cruising sailing cat. With a combination of luxury, comfort, and speed, it is indeed the next in evolution.

The HH66 is built in Xiamen, China at Hudson Yacht and Marine, alongside the Gunboat 60. We have listened, and learned a lot from our customers and produced a catamaran that truly exceeds all expectations. Using the best in equipment and building materials, this is a true sailor's catamaran. With more practical space, and comfort, along with smart systems and sail plans, and unmatched reliability, the HH66 is a race boat in disguise."

'The HH66 is built in Xiamen, China at Hudson Yacht and Marine, alongside the Gunboat 60.'

At least they are honest in an oriental sort of a way...usually the counterfeit rubbish is made at another factory just down the road.

Maybe Boeing will have better luck with their newly announced "finishing" plant for 737s. American workers, not so much.

Funny how airplanes used to literally be the Econ 101 case for comparative advantage free trade policy.
