I got super busted for doing a bit of painting at low tide here in April. It basically turns out it is not illegal but highly frowned upon. And you're right you really don't get a great finish probably 1/2 or 1/3 the paint life of a properly prepped, properly dried job.
Check out
holland marine in Green Cove, he has a 40' wide
lift but generally needs the
mast unstepped. Could maybe do a 36'
boat with boards with the
mast up? He is also a "full service" yard but generally somewhat flexible.
If it works out, take some pictures of the haulout.
