I owned a
Gemini 105 MC for many years and lived aboard her with my
family. However at the time I was looking for a
Gemini I did look at a few of the 3000's. The main reason I bought the newer 105MC was because the 3000's were not built for offshore cruising, just coastal cruising. That is why Tony Smith who designed the Gemini's added the internal sonic drive leg system and did away with the outboards when he designed the 105MC in order to protect the
engine in rough seas. If you are planning on taking a Gemini offshore, get the newer 105MC. The 3000 and the 105MC are laid out pretty much the same inside, however the newer
hull design on the 105MC is a little sleeker for better performance.
