Thanks!

I have installed A/C and a generator on my Mahe. In Florida I found that I needed 2 12K BTU units to cool the boat nicely. I installed the new turbo Marine Air units under the sette, one on each side. The Generator is a NexGen that puts out 30 Amps, it is more than enough to run the 2 A/C units with a little more to spare. The gen is in the Starboard engine compartment. I think 16K BTU is a little light for a southern climate.

Here is the new white salon (instead of grey).
They have now added a window for more ventilation.

This Bimini is nice. This is What they put on the Charter Mahe 36's boats in BVI. It just clears the boom.

Its a Custom Bimini - Oversized fixed aluminum frame w/ cockpit light.
They charge $8,750

30 hp engines

Hi,
I just got back from bringing my boat from SXM to Panama. I wanted to give some feedback on the upgraded 30hp engines....they are great. I really didnt want the upgraded engines but had to purchase them in order to get this boat. I am now so glad that I have them. My Mahe motors at 10 knots at 3000 RPM in flat water and easily goes 8-9 knots in some chop at about 2600 rpms with these engines. Nice to know I have some power when/if I ever need it to get me out of danger. My local FP dealer was on the boat during the trip and he says he will HIGHLY recommend the bigger engines now that he has used them himself.
May not be for everyone but just wanted to pass along my experience since when I queried for information about the bigger engines, no one seemed to have much experience with them.
On to California,
Lori

Wow, that looks better than the factory ones I have seen. I like the increased coverage. Do you know the manufacturer? I want to make sure it is the one I have installed. Thanks for the pics!

I agree this is the kind of Bimini I would go for. These two Mahe 36's are in Road Reef Marina (Tortola BVI)just west of Road Town. It must be a local fabrication, because the boats were delivered with no Bimini's. I will be there on 1-2-08, so maybe I can inquire and take some close up pictures to get the real details.

Very nice bimini.Mine is about he same.you can go back in thr thread and look at it.we also have AC on the boat, one 9000 BTU starboard side and a 12000 BTU on port side .3.5KW Gen in the starboard engine room.it gets a little noisy in the starboard cabin.By the way my bimini opens over the helm so you can stand up for better visibility.it also overlaps the salon roof by 2' so you can stay dry on windy rainy days.JC.

cotemar you can see my bimini on thread 224 and 197.I also have an LED light above the table, white and red for night vision.I also have six rod holders so my fishing poles are always ready.....it is a nice set up but kind expensive.on the top I have a 24" wide fiberglass top so I can furl and zip the sail. Jean1146,

That is a nice Bimini and it opens to stand. How sweet is that.
Is yours an aluminum frame or SS?
Was it more or less expensive than the (Tortola BVI)Mahe 36 bimini's at $8,750 ?

Istyles is 3000 RPM maximum operating range? on my 20' 2200 RPM is what is rcomended by Volvo. That's about 6 to 7 Knots depending on the conditions, burning less than 1 GPH on both engines.JC.

You can operate the D1-20's at 2400 to 2500 rmp and reach max torque and h.p. and still only burn 1 gallon per hour for both engines, the max rpm is 3200. Here is a spec sheet on the engines:
