Re: Found this on the deck today, any idea what its off?

During races if we were close to another boat, or at the start we would surupiciously chuck a bit of SS bolt or do-dad on the competitors deck so they would hear the sound... Then we would look up into the rigging and point at something.

Used to drive people crazy trying to work out what part of their rigging was falling apart! we always then beat them

Maybe someone has driven past your boat and chucked something on the deck just to stir you up? I would

I'm pretty sure I was greeted into my marina my someone tossing a cotter ring into my cockpit. I looked and looked and couldn't find what it would go to, just a little too big for my rig.

I spent over 30 mins going over the rig. Its good to meet new friends...

It is most definitely a muffler bearing retainer
did you notice a puddle of halyard fluid in the deck?

Oh, you wanted serious suggestions?
It does appear to be the end cap from something light - say, a boltrope track?

+1 that's a spitting image of a boltrope track end guide!

I tossed it on your deck as I went by, I didn't know what it was either.

Re: Found this on the deck today, any idea what its off?

haha thanks for the guesses...its too flimsy for a bolt rope guide I think. Im thinking the coax clip might be close but I won't know till I go up the mast to check (and probably see the neigbouring boats giggling about what they threw on my deck..)

Thanks Monte, now that you've solved the problem, I can finally rest.

I'm amazed that no one said it was your fault for buying one of those crappy Lagoons; "stuffs always falling off them!", etc.

Come on guys, I want one cheap. Where's George when you need him?
