Favorite cat friendly marinas on US East Coast

In our travels we have found some nice marinas that made a point of welcoming catamarans. We enjoy patronizing these when we are in the area. I will offer up a couple we like and am hoping for recommendations for other places.

So far we have yet to pay a dockage premium versus a monohull. Maybe we have been lucky.

I have not included places were a catamaran can tie onto a mooring ball. We do a lot of mooring balls when traveling Long Island Sound and places north. In this thread Iets focus on marinas providing quality catamaran dock space and either good on-site facilities or excellent access to local activities.

In no particular order...

VIRGINIA: Cape Charles Yacht Center in Cape Charles Virginia. Great access to the town and area distractions. Looks like great catamaran haulout capabilities, which we have yet to try. This is a favorite last stop before leaving the Chesapeake for the open ocean.

MARYLAND: Georgetown Yacht Basin on the Sassafras River in Maryland. This is a favorite reprovision and rest stop before heading down the Chesapeake or going north via CD Canal/Delaware Bay/New Jersey coast. Courtesy car.

MAINE: Yachting Solutions Boat Basin, Rockland Maine. All side tie dockage so no width problem. The crew did an excellent job squeezing us into a just right size slot. Very nice facilities here, top shelf. Courtesy car for easy reprovisioning. Walk to downtown.

MAINE: Rockland municipal marina, Rockland Maine. Plenty of slips wide enough for a catamaran. Good basic facilities. Immediately next to Yachting Solutions. Great access to downtown Rockland.

Shipwright marina in deale Maryland. No extra charge, good community vibe, and great harbour master. Lots of marine service and part sourcing close by.

Brunswick landing marina in Georgia. Inside slip on every dock is for cats. No extra charge. Free beer and laundry, and reasonably monthly fee.

Another thumbs up for Shipwright Harbor Marina in Deale, MD - I lived aboard there for 7 years and feel you will not find a more cruiser- and liveaboard-friendly marina anywhere. Nice swimming pool, fine ablutions block, laundry, easy access to restaurants and marine stores... it has it all.

And they are cat-friendly - the furry kind - too!

Love these suggestions. It is possible I will visit both of these in 2020.

Re: Favorite cat friendly marinas on US East Coast

We did the ICW from West Palm Beach to Cape May in a 45ft LOA 26' beam cat with mast down over two months.

We were never charged a penalty rate for a T head or side dock, and only one marina charged us for the extra length of the mast (that made us 65ft long), that was in 2015.

Re: Favorite cat friendly marinas on US East Coast

Any suggestions for North Carolina?

Especially Beaufort and points north.

Beaufort - Olde Town Yacht club was good for us, if you can get a spot, nice lounge, pool etc - pricing was ok, long walk to shops - we usually anchored out at Cape Lookout for most of the time when in that area waiting for weather windows.

Cape Charles Town Harbor is closer to town activities and less expensive. We've used both. CCYC is where we hauled out on several occasions. The Oyster Farm is a bit tricky to enter. Did it once, but not again.

On the other side of the Bay, Cobb's gets the nod as our favorite place in the Lower Chesapeake.

Cheers,
Joe

Just about all I have dealt with seem to try to accommodate.
But....
How about catamaran unfriendly marinas?
