Farrier Trailer Tri 720

This is a long shot, but rather than spend the money on an F-27 I would love to get my hands on a TT720. Yes, I know they're plywood. It would do the trick for me, and for a lot less money.... Does anyone know of one for sale in the US?

Look for a Haines-Hunter Tramp or Super-Tramp, later called the Eagle trimaran when built for a brief period in Houston. These are Ian Farrier trimarans, with his wonderful folding mechanism, at 20' LOA. They are readily trailer launched, towed behind a smallish car, and a real thrill to sail. They are proportionally heavier than the F27, so they are not quite as fast. If you can find one of these you should pay about $10,000 for a well maintained boat with three sails on a trailer. With some simple rigging a single person can step the mast. A 3.5 hp outboard is ideal.

Suggestion; change your photo. seriously. Or photoshop a bellybutton-long gray beard.

ps I just googled several under Tramp Trimaran.

Periodically check the classified ads at Multihulls Magazine. They recently had one listed but it must have just sold. Keep an eye out for the TT 680, an earlier slightly smaller version too.

Thanks Sandy, however, that's an open boat. I'm looking for a cabin. As I said the F27 fits the bill, but with a 720 I would get close, for a third or less money.

Believe there is one for sale in the SF Bay area. Talked with the owner a month or so ago. Asking price seemed cheap for a Farrier, expensive for the size of the boat.

Aloha

Peter, I saw that one. He wants 18K which does seem up there, although it looked very nice in the pictures...... Would be a long haul across the country.
