Experiences with 1992-1995 Priviledge 39's?

Greetings to All: I'm retired and an experienced previous Caribbean cat owner. My wife and I enjoy island cruising and are looking for an affordable cat to keep in the Leeward Islands for recreational use via month-long trips in the eastern Caribbean. Several Privilege 39's from the 2002-2005 era are on the market in my price range (< $200K). I will have a survey/sea trial done on my final choice, but would appreciate input from the group about any special problems with the 39s that could lead to expensive repairs, large loss of value, etc. I'm thinking about running gear, special hull de-lamination concerns, structural matters, Privilege engines problems, low resale challenges, etc. All comments are appreciated.

I sailed a 1993 Privilege 39 around the world without any structural problems. Exit Only was hull 93, and by the time my hull was constructed, they knew what they were doing.

The one common problem was the head liner needing replacement after about ten years because the foam backing on the head liner broke down making the headliner sag.

We never had any structural problems.

I have 4500 hours on each engine without any problems.

Very robust catamaran.

You can visit SAILING UNI - JOIN TEAM MAXING OUT AS THEY SAIL AROUND THE WORLD ON THEIR PRIVILEGE 39 CATAMARAN - EXIT ONLY to get more information about our Privilege 39.

Hi Dave , I just poste a question about The crossbeam of my P39 in this Forum.
As you got a lot of experience with this boat, you might be able to help me.
Thanks Pablito
