Dockage or moorings in South Florida

Hi all
Having a lot of problem finding space for my 47x24 CAT in south Florida Dec-March.
Any ideas.. I have contacted most of the main/best known Marinas.. And most moorings limit to 40ft !
Will have to leave the boat so can't anchor.

Thanks much
Gboy

44.50? Is that a misprint?

Re: Dockage or moorings in South Florida

In my experience there have always been empty slips at Marina del Mar in the Port Largo basin, regardless of the time of year, and you can get your 47 in and out of there easily (there is a 90o bend where you issue a securite), larger boats than that go in and out. Stated controlling depth is 4.5 feet, but I've never seen less than 5. pete

Holy crap.. 44/foot... That's an eye opener... Would it be cheaper in a place like Tampa?

Probably but you're a few hundred miles further north!

Did you try Stock Island marina? It is a nice facility and not as expensive as KW.

There are a couple of marinas around WPB but maybe that is too north for you. Riviera Beach is in construction but slips look available. Also North Palm Beach/Old port cove can accomodate a boat that size if slips are available. I was quoted @1200 for our 40/21ft boat.

http://www.mangrovemarina.com/

Mangrove marina in Tavernier @.$18.50 a foot for a monohull. I saw some bigger cats there, but not sure what their rates were.

Nice little marina, tad shallow

I just got a new appreciation for my $3.50 per foot per month marina slip rate.

There's also the mooring field in marathon ! Price can't be beat @ 325$ approx a month. Easy ocean access, great community, can't be beat!

What part of the country is that in? Anywhere in the Tampa region?
