Just finishing moving our FP Bahia 46 to Florida from St Martin.
I'm looking for a boat yard that has a sled or lift that can handle a 46 x 24 foot catamaran, and lets you do your own work.

I'm planning on having it out of the water for a few weeks while I do the refit.

I heard there are some on Key Largo or the Indian river.

Any help would be great,

Old island boatworks on stock island should be able to accomodate. There is a shop in the back that builds huge cats.

Lauderdale Marine Center. I had my Bahia there this past February. Very professional. very clean. you can do the work yourself and if you get stuck there are dozens of repair shops on site to help you out. Even have a nice lounge.

There web site only list one with a big enough lift for that beam. I think it is Riviera beach which could handle it

In Rock Harbor just south of Key Largo you can do your own work and he can haul cats up to 28' beam. He also offers reasonable rates for storage.

Well, we will haul at Cracker Boy at Riviera beach on Saturday, everyone at the yard has been really helpful in planning and scheduling. They say the lift is 26' and have hauled 25.5' recently.
We had planned on going to Boat and Tire but in the end we're talked out of it by people (more then 5) that had the rates doubled once they arrived with big cats.

One place that was also recommended by a few different people was Scorpion's in Port Canaveral.

Sorry, but I have to disagree strongly. I had a very, very bad experience with him (Boat and Tire - Key Largo) and I would recommend avoiding at all costs.

On land at CB, the haul went well better then it could have.

We had a very strong wind and bumped a barge tied up on the next slip that resulted in a few minor gel-coat chips. Our poor 38hp Yanmar just didn't have the power in reverse to overcome the wind as we got pushed. The guys from CB were very professional and were able to get it under control and pulled us right in the slot.

Now the fun is well underway, and I stopped shaking a few hours (drinks) ago.

Just finished with our Cat, 60' x 27'6" wide. Great experience in Key Largo,
Catamaran Boat Yard. A true working yard with no hidden fees. We are DIY
but when we needed help, help was there. We stayed aboard no issues.
Matt the owner was always able to find hard to get items and make sure all the
services we requested were on time and budget.

Great news as the yard had been developing a bad reputation. We may give them a try in a month or two.

We heard or read what we call nonsense. We did see the yard get tough
with a DIY whom was grinding heavy glas and did not cover his work to
protect the environment and other boats. And yes there are rules to follow
but nothing out of reality.
It is a boat yard we called and spoke to Matt and addressed all issues,
costs, rules, terms of payment etc.
Anything we had them do they provided a written estimate in advance.
We would suggest people spend a few minutes on the phone and ask
questions and make their own intelligent decisions.
We did this rather then be influenced by blogs.
We noted several complaints with no substance or facts presented.
We will always shop our services where ever we go.

One of the beauties of the Internet is researching goods or services. I have personally talked to three people who had problems with this yard so it's not just the Internet armchair sailors. I talked to the yard a couple of weeks ago and was very happy with their prices and services. That being said, before I haul there I will get everything in writing as they do or did have a bad reputation. I truly hope they live up to your report.
