Ok, I swear I am being serious this time. Apologies for previous post of tent on floating platform. I could not help myself. Long day.

As far as "easily" transportable and unique forms of shore-side exploration go (AKA toys), I would (seriously) opt for this:

Powered paragliding - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Might not be 100% legal everywhere you take it, then again the authorities would have a difficult time pulling you over and giving you a ticket

To carry that kind of toy You will need 60-70ft size (depending of construction material) and specially designed nacelle to store this unit while at sea.

Placing it on deck of Helia 44 will definitely create a problems, probably invisible to Your eye at the beginning.

E-bike would be indeed much better solution to have onboard of a production cat, IMHO.

Re: Displacement

Bikes seem a wonderful idea. But try reading Beth Leonards book

The Voyagers Handbook She talks about bringing bikes and says you'll rarely end up using them
We carried fold type bikes on our boat for several years. Rarely used them. They were a bigger PITA to stow than any use we got out of them.

Electric bikes? You'll need to charge them also. Stowing them will be a PITA.

Use your shoe leather

No such thing. Regulations and insurance requirements vary by country. Some countries, like Costa Rica, require you purchase gov't issued auto insurance regardless of what other coverage you may have.

+1. Carried folding bikes for a few years. They were great on the rare occassions that we used them, but just a PITA to stow the rest of the time. Ditched 'em.
