Well that was a pig of 21 days.. Light head winds and calms, 3.5 days of ESE windsS200nm SE of Bermuda thatpushed us 700nm to the NE and used all 1500L of fuel to get here.. motored in yesterday on fumes and a prayer..
Head on on Monday.. winds looking good and from the N so hopefully a fast final 900nm.
Beautiful morning here on the hook in Horta.. big sailing Regatta and festival going on so the place is buzzing and lots of BYT's...
A pic of my bed for 20 days and nights..lol.

Re: Delivery.. Hollywood, Florida to Figuiera da Foz, Portugal.

Hi Boatman,

If you are still in Figuera da Foz, give my best regards to coast guard team there. While I was sailing my new cat from La Rochelle to Marmaris they stopped me while 10 nm from the coast and forced me to sail back to Figuera da Foz. They said I was suspicious as I didn't carry neither Turkish nor Portuguese (courtesy) flag. Not my fault, these to flags were out of stock in two big chandellers in La Rochelle. They have made couple of questions, then we became friend, they opended the fuel station for me which was closed an hour ago..
Nice city, nice people..

Cheers

Re: Delivery.. Hollywood, Florida to Figuiera da Foz, Portugal.

Sounds like there was no major drama. Just some frustration. In general, what is your overall impression of the boat? Does it take a gale to get her up and going? Maybe a better question would be what wind speed does it take to get her up to 4 knots on any point of sail?

Happy you still kicking it!
