Deciphering yachtworld codes

While browsing the boats in Yachtworld I have noticed a disparity of asking prices for the same boat. I have investigated the individual listing companies and have found that some listings are sold, removed or just old. So, is there a date code in the Yachtworld # for instance YW# 38346-1914943?. This is just an arbitrary listing. It has nothing to do with any of the issues noted above. Or am I missing the listing date somewhere else? BOB

Re: Deciphering yachtworld codes

I hope we find the answer to this. My thoughts are that Yachtworld is similar to other online listing services that allow sold listings to remain active. It makes the site appear to have more listings and it keeps the leads coming in for the lister.

Re: Deciphering yachtworld codes

Brokers have access to additional information for Yachtworld listings, including how long a given boat has been listed. The brokers report a boat sale to Yachtworld (along with the final price, for use by other brokers) so it isn't Yachtworld trying to bloat the listings but the individual brokers.

So, if you have contacts with a broker you can get that additional info.
