Whoever owns this boat has already calculated the salvage value and is trying find someone with a dream of fixing and owning a brand new lagoon. Unfortunately, methinks that anyone with 300k for this drowned rat would sooner spend the money on something a little older, riding a bit higher on the water, and ready to sail.

This is a bucket of parts and it needs to be let go.

Saw the original video but can't find it anymore. We just had a look at the boat at Nanny Cay, Tortola. Quite a view, looking in from the bottom of the pontoons. Not sure if I can add photos but here we go...

I wonder if the owner's insurance covers fines from damage to coral? Could be quite steep if I remember my briefings on charters in BVI.

Having been at same location, got to question anyone who DOESN'T think owner is an idiot. Autopilot there? Really?

Everyone will nudge the bottom at some time either racing or exploring but this effort takes the cake...

Quite a shame....
Would the insurance cover this type of accident?

VWVortex.com - Brand new Lagoon 450 grounded on a reef and bottom torn out..

Sure. He had insurance and it was covered. Hope the Capt. isn't intending on getting another boat. Might be tough to insure.
