Re: Cruising couple payload

One assumption your leaving out, "mother nature complies with cruisers plans. "
Hardly ever happens. A fellow cruiser we met in the Exumas on a performance minded light cat was showing me his trip averages her the last 15OO miles. Top speed was 18 knots and I was drooling, his trip average was 6, I didn't feel so bad.
May As well plan to be comfy , fast doesn't always happen just my 2 c
Also I have seen a couple cruising cats at and below their design payload with transoms much lower than I would think they should be. I have my doubts as to what planned water line really is.

Re: Cruising couple payload

Hehe, don't worry I'm well aware of what consistent averages even the performance cats are making. There's been some lively discussion about this on here and other forums that I've read.

I'm happy with my choice of cat category. I think that even a performance cruising cat of 45+' will have enough, comfortable, living space for a couple.
