SOLD! ...or Rather, BOUGHT!

Thanks all for your help. I'm still struggling with a handy tax free place to keep my new rig, but the acquisition is confirmed. Likely it will be kept in Rhode Island, and hopefully not to far from Newport. 2010 Lagoon 380, basically new. Very very excited here. Nick

Nick,
Congratulations on your Lagoon 380.

Peconic Bay, between the forks of Long Island is a good place to cruise while you are learning the boat.

BTW, two other forums you might be interested in, as well:

Check out getting a mooring off of Standish Boatyard in Tiverton, RI. They usually seem to have room, even for multihulls. Some friends of ours used to keep their Manta cat there. It is in RI, but about as close as you can get to the border with Mass., so the drive is a little bit shorter (take Rt. 24 down to Fall River and then on to Tiverton), and takes a lot less time than getting to other parts of RI from NH. Also, you are right at the head of the Sakonnet River and can sail out into the ocean within a few hours and be at Cuttyhunk Island in about five hours, or continue up Buzzards Bay to someplace else. Tons of current in there, but not too bad in terms of shelter. We've spent a hurricane on a mooring there and had no major issues. Cheers!

Nick,

WOW, very nice. Will most likely see you since Long Island Sound is my main stomping ground and we do go to Newport often.

Will have to hook up

Congrats! Check out Connanicut marina in Jamestown, or Dutch Harbor boat yard on the other side of Connanicut Island. It's a pleasant 1 mile walk or ride to Jamestown and the harbor shuttle to Newport at Connanicut marina. The former is a first-rate facility and the latter is a down-home low-key spot. Both have moorings. Lots of other marinas and harbors around Narragansett Bay. Get online at Active Captain and start dialing the phone.
