Re: Cheap Multis and Projects

Thanks for the info Joe, Im an expat kiwi boatbuilder but im probably in the same age group as you and have too many boats calling for my attention already. I hope some young guy with the time and energy saves it, I hate seeing cool boats waste away.

Re: Invictus Trimaran in Seattle

I did some investigating on the most recent subject; Invictus. It is still has not returned to Craigs List in Seattle but I heard that there may be two offers on it. I haven't been able to confirm this with the seller or the possible buyer(s) but I will keep trying. So maybe this interesting boat will find a good home, and that is what those who know the boat want the most.

Re: Big Auction of boats in San Francisco Area

I came across this Big Auction of boats in San Francisco Area in the Electronic Latitude 38 Magazine. I think there was only one multihull mentioned and I didn't wade thru the details to see if it was a day sailor or a larger multi. But some of the boats certainly qualify as projects. OTOH there were some very interesting monohulls shown in the video. Have fun.

Re: Cheap Multis and Projects

Made me laugh Senor. Would they qualify as a cat? Invictus is not decrepit, you could probably sail it as is but it really deserves/needs TLC first. All the SF auction boats looked better than those 2 on CL.

Re: Cheap Multis and Projects

I sent an email to my wife in jest:

We could get these boats FOR FREE !
I could fix them both up in my spare time.
I know they're kind of small, but you could sail one and I could sail the other, side by side around the world !!
Wouldn't it be great??

Take a look at all the pics. I'm sure they would be an easy fix !!

She had the same answer. "Strap 'em together and make a catamaran. "

Eric,
I've been following the NWMA emails about Invictus. I hope it finds a loving owner.

I had the same thought. A couple of long bamboo poles would do. Then I thought you could point them in different directions and sail in circles.

1990 24' Seawind Catamaran Sailboat

Not a world cruiser, but if you're a young and happy camper, this would work well for the Dry Tortugas and possibly Bahamas with a good weather window.

Performance Cruising Catamaran

This one is newly built and looks well done (judging by pictures alone).

Re: Cheap Multis and Projects

My Dr. says my sailboats have to go.

One is a Horstman Tristar 27-9 9. The other ones a catamaran approximately 28 feet in length and the catamaran is 15 feet wide. The beam on the trimaran is 17.5'. I will put pictures of the trimaran up here when I finish this. The catamaran i will try to get pictures up next week. I'll let them both go for ten thousand dollars each not going to argue about the price or will want more than that.

The rigging it's in excellent shape. I had it inspected by two different riggering companies. The sails are cruising tanbark
and they are in excellent shape. She is cutter rigged are in good shape has a hank on roller furling the only thing is I was going to take it down to Mexico to haul out and redo the bottom bottom paint. The decks are solid and just need paints on the catamaran just cosmetic on the trimaran. Every piece of wood on the inside was epoxied that is why a pressure washer.

And the catamaran is very very solidly built all the sails have a little time on them but cuising and tanbark sails she's cutter rigged and we
founds 5 hundred pound of pigeon crap below since 2002 this one will be sanitizing her.

I hace found that no catamaran her size f
under 18k.

Booth are good boats that need to continue living..

I'm exhausted as writing this.. If part of this makes no since that why.

For some reason out won't let me add pictures
