Thanks :-)
I am now in the Punta Banda, just down from Manadearo. Baja Mexico.
I figure to begin fresh here.

Regards

Alex

Re: Cheap Multis and Projects

After looking for 3+ years, I've come to the conclusion that the existence of a "cheap multi" is about as frequent as a pink unicorn.

An astute observation. Most of the old '70s and early '80s boats were wood or epoxy over wood. Precious few were maintained. Today those old wood boats make great bon fires.

It's a boat .. you get what you pay for...

Re: Cheap Multis and Projects

bought our cat 2 years ago for 50K and have almost finished fixing/replacing all that needed doing. in the end we will have a 60' ,4 berth cat with virtually new everything for around 150k, could have come in well under that, but we were screwed by the yard that finished some work I couldn't get done in time to splash. still not sure if I was lucky to find/buy her when we did or not, but now I know every inch and every system of our boat.

clearly some internal work to do, but it could be a fun weekender, its got me checking ebay to work out how much you could fit it out for...

Impressive to see how little is actually needed in a mast BH to hold a boat together.

Hi cat man do,

Could you please elaborate? I havent heard the term mast BH before.

Are you just referring to how little support is evident under a deck stepped mast?

Cheers
Shane

Not very good photos though. Don't people know how to take boat photos, or are they trying to avoid showing off how bad it really is?

Re: Cheap Multis and Projects

I am trading a SEACLIPPER 28 Trimaran in FLORIDA. just want a smaller more manageable single hull

19ft beam 28 ft long. i cant afford to get it out the water.

its needs a new centerboard, bottome scraped and painted, and the winches re-attached.

Add this to the delusional category:
Custom Kayak multihull sailboat for sale in Washington

"The only downside of this boat is that it is impossible to launch it without a bunch of people lining up and asking all about it!"

I'm sure most of the remarks start with, 'WTF!...'

I'm really tempted. Have you gone down there to see it?
It's a bit odd that he keeps advertising it as a 1976, when it clearly isn't. It's an earlier edition.
