Re: found my new boat!!

Motogon - thank you, thank you, thank you - I owe you several beers. After seeing your post, I emailed, then talked with the seller and was off the next morning at 4 am to see Orien. She needs a bit more than some TLC but well within my ablilities. I initially passed but we made a deal a few hours ago.
Sand Crab - thanks for all your finds as well- they keep my dreams alive.

The new dream starts....Ed (owner of 2 cats now)

Re: bought the ACTE 40

Sand Crab - yes, bought it. It is certainly a project boat. Needs all windows replaced. No port side floor! All floor access panels need replacing. All inside vertical surfaces need attention. Instruments will need updating and a new mail is in our future. But the hull seems sound and I like the layout. BTW, all the Polynesia 42 are really just under 40'. Plenty of boat for us. Will be putting our Prout Snowgoose up for sale soon.

Re: Cheap Multis and Projects

I read somewhere that ACTE was there at the beginning of Catana or was somehow aligned with them. Is there hull access from the salon and what is the headroom in the salon?

Congrats, it looked like a great deal, lot of boat even with lots of needed work.

Congratulations Ed!

How does one's port side floor go missing? Did it rot away?

Re: ACTE Polynesia

ohdrinkboy - apparently the bow was slightly down and tilted to port. Wind driven rain came thru the sliding door and filled the port hull up to the floor boards (boat had been sitting for a long time) My wife is not allowed to go inside until I finish making a mess inside

nimblemotors - yes, we felt we could not go wrong and I like the layout. I also liked the engine bays being separate from living space and great access. No lifting up bedding to check the oil level.

Sandcrab - I believe ACTE gave up on sailboats or sold the sailboat part to Catana

Re: Cheap Multis and Projects

Aloha!
Does anyone live in the LA/Long Beach/Wilmington area that would be available to check out a boat for me?

If so, please PM me.

Mahalo!

Re: Cheap Multis and Projects

There's a nice little Farrier tri on the police mooring near me in Pittwater, apparently the owner can't be found and it is going to auction soon.
A few grand and a bit of spit and polish would have you in a very nice tri.

Assuming that Shuttleworth is still in decent condition that is a really good deal!

Re: Cheap Multis and Projects

Cheap for what you get. Looks like there are some cats out there which would suit my need for speed and reasonable price.
