I'm not sure how big it is on the inside, but that isn't a bad price for a boat that looks to be ready to sail.

Looks to be missing the rudder? By ready to sail do you mean that the mizzen is able to be hoisted in a calm?

FYI, I think the Lodestar is one of the better Piver boats and fairly roomy. I'm not an expert on Piver designs though.

I attached some photo's of the inside of my old Loadstar. Super fun boat and a killer liveaboard. I did not have the stern castle on mine, so this would have even more room. We put a Searunner 40 rudder on mine, it did better to windward, but had some weather helm, would have been even better with a mini keel. I know John Marples has or had plans for adding the mini keel. Someone should take this one on.

I think it had a big refit, is now called LOE REAL, and just won the Newport - Ensenada race.

Another entry with a different kind of history was Loe Real entered by H.L. Loe of El Paso, Tex. The 60-foot trimaran was featured in the movie 'Waterworld.' Loe bought it in 1996 and has spent the years since modifying it for racing.

'The first year was spent taking as much weight out of it as we could,' Loe said. 'They had built this thing fairly stout so Kevin Costner would feel secure, but it is a heavy boat.'

Loe has done several Ensenada races on smaller Corsair 31 trimarans, but this time he was easier to spot as Loe Real towered over the other multihulls.

'I was able to buy a lot of used sails from France, so the main sail will have the name Permagaz on it,' he said.

I had called on the loadstar in san diego. Needs a compute refit. Hulls are leaking from to much beaching they say as they are.taking on water. Hulls need.dryinh out and reglassing below the waterline. She is at the ninety day anchorage. Then has to be moved to a yard or a marina. She is basic and stripped down inside.

A person could possibly make money on that Heavenly Twins as they are a bit of a cult boat and are valued much higher than they should be.that said they would have to be one of the ugliest cats on the planet, not an attractive line on it.

sounds like the Lodestar needs the chainsaw. hopefully the city does not have to pay to dispose of it. Also, hopefully someone does not strick off for Hawaii in it and need a much more expensive rescue. I was involved in the "disposal" of one a few years ago by Lee County in SW Florida. Sad, but often for the best.
