Re: Cheap Multis and Projects

I'm actually looking for a 50-60ft power catamaran project boat that we can finish into a long range cruiser. Preferably on the Gulf Coast or in Florida. We have access to a lift and yard for a multi year project. I you know of a candidate, shoot me a PM.

Thanks

There's a 40 foot aluminum power cat up in Michigan I've seen somewhere, cheap enough to make transport viable....

It's on a few different sites, hard to tell what's current. Not my cup of tea, but cool nontheless.

Thank you for the link.

I wonder how extensive the corrosion is? Has anyone here seen this boat?

A cruiser once said to me,
"Beware of weight in an aluminum cat below 40 ft. Good performance is hard to achieve."

just sayin'.

I looked at this pdq about 6 months ago. They were asking 100k I think at that time. The vessel looked tired. All windows and hatches would need replaced. Starboard diesel wouldn't fire up. She needed more work than I was interested in putting in at 100k. At 80k she's priced about right assuming both engines run.

Re: Cheap Multis and Projects

I called on that 40' tri a few months ago. I spoke to the "captain" trying to get details. He doesn't know the type, make or design of the boat. No other details either. He was going to get back to me on the details and that was 3 months ago. Still waiting.
And the title is held by a corporation and the stakeholders don't get along.
Good luck with that one.

Re: Cheap Multis and Projects

Sorry it has so many problems. I'm really just trying to keep this thread alive. To that end:

1976 33' cruising trimaran

33' Cruising Tri, and I think it is listed for less elsewhere.

Re: Cheap Multis and Projects

Its cheap and a project, though by the time you replace 1 engine, 1 saildrive, rigging, sails, batteries, electrical, reefer, ac, and who knows what else, you'll have about 25k more in it than she's worth
