Catamarans coming to Annapolis

We always love the boat show when we get to step aboard some of the new boats and see the latest designs. The following catamarans are coming to Annapolis.

If driving or coming by water one of the easiest ways to get into the boat show is by water taxi, use VHF 68 or call (410) 263-0033.

Types of Catamarans:

Admiral 40
Antares 44
Catana 50
Dolphin 46
FP Lavezzi 40
FP Salina 48
Gemini 105
Lagoon 380
Lagoon 420
Lagoon 440
Lagoon 500
Leopard 4000
Leopard 4600
Seawind 1000
Seawind 1160
Tomcat 9.7
Voyage 580

There are probably more vendors that didn't make this list, over the last years we usually have Privilege, Broadblue, Gunboat and sometimes Dean.
Also across the creek is catamaran company docks with several used cats for sale. Even if the boat isn't for sale you are interested in, Annapolis serves as the gateway to Caribbean this time of year as everyone starts heading south after Hurricane season. You can often see what you might be interested in anchored off the harbor.

Cheers!

Freetime: The Bay Bridge Boat Show has been a serious disappointment for sailors in the last few years, with very very few masts in sight. The National Harbor Show is likewise a no go event. The United States Sailboat Show, in spite of this year's Management Shakeup, is still the place to see a wonderful variety of Catamarans. The Miami show may be catching up, though!

Where are the various shows Sandy? I live on the west coast so I haven't a clue...but want to fly out there to see a show with lots of catamarans. What do you think will be the best bet for next year if I have only one boat show to choose from?

Schoonerdog - Thanks for the list, we are excited to come to the Annapolis show and see so many catamarans in one place! My wife and I are chartering for 5 days just prior to the show, and planning to stay in Annapolis after sailing to step aboard as many boats as we can fit in. Maybe we'll bump into you...

Regards

We also plan to be at Annapolis in our new (to us) Romany catamaran.

I say plan as I write this in the UK and don't fly to the USA until the 2nd.

Although the Romany is in Newport News, so not that far from Annapolis, we haven't sailed it yet. In fact it hasn't even been moved for over 6 months.

So it is very much weather and boat permitting. After Annapolis we plan to sail south down the ICW, working on the boat on the way. We'd welcome visitors

good sailing, and maybe see you in Annapolis

As you enter Florida and near the Space Center, PM or email me. I'd like to say hello as you sail on by.

First Catalack 8 metre built by Tom Lack

Hi Rick, Slightly off thread, but met the owner today of the first boatshow Catalac 8metre Opus1, still the same owner since 1976 (i think he said 76) moored 75 yards from me on the rive exe, Devon, UK.

That's gratifying to hear. When I did my research on Catalac Catamarans I noticed this as well. People who bought them, keep them. I had the hardest time finding one for myself a few years ago. It's a terrible thing to say, that I had to wait for an owner to pass away before a boat came on the market.

Overall they are good boats for their intended use.

Now...back to the topic....

Welcome to Multihull Demo Days

Go here immediately; This is the best list of accomodations, maps, and events for the sailboat show here. If I have to miss the Annapolis show for one reason or the other, I would drag my wounded body through a salt pond to get to this highlight of the year! Schedule a ride on the Corsair, just to get the blood pumping, and crawl all over every other boat there, and schedule a ride or two on whatever really fires your receptors!

At the show Check in with Chiodi at his float, and buy a book or two, preferably a cookbook from Corinne Kanter!

The list is changing for demo days. I was interested in sailing a fp 36, and some others, manta, etc. The exhibitor list says FP will have a 36, why would it not be part of demo days?

Try the extended stay in Annapolis, they seem to be reasonable in price. Extended Stay Hotels - showcases hotel suites, discount lodging and short term housing.
