I only have personal knowledge of two folks who owned a Dean (on the other hand that may be because they are the only survivors). Their boats were cheaply made, showed their flaws, and had little value after a few years. On the other hand, there are lots of boats in the Virgins that fit that exact description. People sail them, live on them, and hopefully haven't sunk on them.
If you want a Dean it shouldn't be hard to get one at a low price
. Many people think they need an ocean capable boat to cruise
the islands and drink a lot of beer
. Isn't true. Most boats will allow that activity. So don't be too hard on the Dean. If its floating, it might be worth considering.
