Catamaran in Florence, OR

Driving back from a meeting in California, My wife and I spotted a catamaran in Florence, Oregon, without a mast. We didn't see it when we drove down 5 days earlier. The boat is "Twin Image", a 58' cat built in France. It looks like the furlling headstay is broken, The rest of the rig (mast, boom, shrouds, etc.) is missing.

Does anyone have more information?

Joe

That boat was for sale in Vancouver, BC for around $325K. It was listed as sale pending recently so I think it may have just sold because it isn't on YW anymore. It is a 1988 Profil 57 which was built in epoxy and fom. Apparently it was quite the globetrotter. The mast, rig, furling boom, sails and everything were replaced in about 2012 in New Zealand I think so maybe it had a major failure then. It looked really good for it's age and was well kept. I downloaded the pics so here's a few. Sucks for the new owner.
I have quite a few pics if you want more.

Re: Catamaran in Florence, OR

Thanks, Sand Crab.

I thought it probably sold recently and that perhaps it was on a trip south from BC. If I'm not mistaken about the current circumstances, this would make the second dismasting. You're right, it's a really bad break for the new owners..
