That's the Jack London Square in Oakland if anyone is curious.

Great videos.

If there isn't a sea running or large wakes in the area, docking is rarely a problem on our catamaran as long as we go slow. The only time I dinged the hull was when a massive wake from a ferry happened to coincide with our docking maneuvers.

It's interesting to read the comments about going slow when docking. Where my boat is moored there are a lot of cats. Maybe 20. While the speed isn't necessarily high, the amount of throttle work is substantual. My observation and experience is that you have to be pretty confident and committed to the maneuver.

My big issue with my berth is that I have to come in between two boats in reverse, then rotate 45 degrees, back up 60 feet, and only have 8' of extra beam space to do so. The wind and current fight me half the time. It's not a relaxing experience.

Very interesting videos and thanks for posting. Had the oportunity to practice these this week. Now can we have one with the wind/current running parallel to the dock and maybe with a little more velocity. real life is always more complicated
