This link has apparently been blocked, but no worries, just click on the link anyway, and delete all the text after the .com, in the toolbar, that will get you there.

Obviously links to other sites are not tolerated, even though they are not commercial.

Why have all references to aforementioned the link been deleted?

“... Our user base is not a resource to be "mined" by individuals, groups, or businesses, for profit or not for profit...”

The management team decided to apply this prohibition in the specific case of the subject forum, because a former CF member decided to leave the CruisersForum, and create his own Forum, in direct competition with the CF.

I’m told that his new Forum is generally critical of the CF, and specifically unfriendly towards me (personally).

Do you think it may be worth a little look rather than accept information second hand? If you are interested PM me and I can give you their web address.

You are right, second hand & unconfirmed information shouldn't be repeated.
I've retracted my comments.

This list can't be considered complete without adding bumfuzzle.com Click on the picture of their catamaran, Bumfuzzle, on the home page to "begin at the beginning." Otherwise, click on adventure chronicles from the menu at the top of the page, then scroll down the list to the October 2003 logs, or anywhere else on the list if there's a particular point during their circumnavigation you're interested in.

Pat and Ali Schulte circumnavigated aboard their Wildcat Bumfuzzle from late 2003 through April 2007, so while the logs are reports from the recent past, its good stuff all the same. The quote from the Slapdash blog earlier in this thread perfectly sums up what the Schultes believed, and what they did:

“Having never gone all the way around the world before, we don't know all that much about circumnavigations. Having never sailed before, we don't know all that much about sailboats. We will just have to sort these little details out along the way. Call us naive, you probably already are, but we think it's really quite simple. Sell all our stuff, sell our house, quit our jobs, say goodbye to friends and family, fly to Florida, buy a boat, figure out how it works, point it West and keep going until we get back to where we started from.”

It even sounds like something Pat would have said or written.
