Re: Cat destroyed in Melbourne

would be educational to find out how fire triggered...

while at it: people say cats belong to <30 latitude. Melbourne close to roaring 40ies.

As there is at least few cats there, someone thinks cat can go beyond 30 !

Does one go outside port phillip bay with a cat ?

Re: Cat destroyed in Melbourne

Does anyone know this cat? It certainly looks larger than 40 foot to me as it was described in the article.

Re: Cat destroyed in Melbourne

It could be the 46 ft Gary Lidgard "Abatao." I hope it isn't as that was a highly customized hand built boat built in Kirabati and not just a Lagoon or similar.

Re: Cat destroyed in Melbourne

Sorry to hear about fire in Melbourne, it is good that nobody was hurt. I hope they find out what caused it.

I know of at least one Catana 471 that rounded Cape Horn. My cat (Lagoon) was sailed almost to Alaska. OK, mostly inside passage, but still. Why would anyone say <30?

Just saw it on the news.

Fountaine Pajot Marquises 56.

It's been in Melbourne for several years and has Papyete on the back.

Sailed Perth to Melbourne (Southern Ocean/Great Australian Bight) in a 42 ft Seawind and two Bass Strait crossing no problems and very comfortable with some 'big" conditions along the way.
