My guess is if they had used a CQR anchor they wouldn't have flipped.

Yes and judging from this past month, all monos are looking for an excuse to dive to the bottom

Re: Capsizing on mooring

Well my "Joke" sign was broken, so I had to improvise, unlike some cat owners, I have a sense of humor, even if it is a poor one.

You think so? You're probably alone in that.

Re: Capsizing on mooring

Wow, a lagoon 410. ~10 ton in cruising mode.

There goes my assumption that it happens mostly to light displacement boats...

Holding well enough to flip a heavy cat could be the litmus test for the anchoring threads.

That's the monohull safety system. When things go bad, they automatically head for the nearest land.

Cruising Cat, you go stand in THAT corner, Cap 58, you go stand in the other corner, and neither of you come out until you can behave better.

That's funny your non sense discussion (I mean both of you) but the truth is that there are unsinkable cruising monohulls, but there are no cruising multihulls able to re-right themselves. Anyway those monohull cruisers are a small minority and even if it is a nice feature I would not chose a boat over that particular characteristic.
