Budget for a Lagoon 400 , Lipari or Leopard 39

Hello everyone!

I have a Beneteau 40 2010 with a wife and kids that don't like healing that much.... We have rented at least 8 times lagoons in the caribean (380and 410) and all the family loved it! We are thinking of moving to a cat! the budget would be for the price p=of a Lagoon 400. I'm looking for the pros and cons of the lagoon, lipari and leopard? We use the boat on the weekend primarely as a flotting cottage... Sometimes we spend our summer vacation on it to.

Any observation for me anyone? Thanks!!!

For your usage, there is no difference among the boats.

e-dumouc, you have chartered Lagoons in the size range that interests you, why not charter a Leopard (Sunsail) and an FP on your next two vacations? It doesn't sound as if performance is high on your agenda and, with an intended use primarily as a summer cottage, you are probaby less concerned with bridgedeck clearance than many other prospective purchasers ( which was an issue with many of the earlier Leopards and some of the earlier Lagoons). So ultimately, if space and comfort are the main concerns, why not try out some Leopards and FP's and see which works best for you and your family?

Re: Budget for a 40'? lagoon 400, lipari or leopard 39?

Depends on your cruising ground, the l400 offers the most of the 3 but is a problem for the ICW. I have a FP Mahe and warranty is definetly a problem with FP, the L39 is really a 37 footer so smaller than the others but will fit in more travel lifts, the l40 and Lipari are really 39 footer, criterias to keep in mind; one level cockpit and saloon, in line berths, saloon ventillation, larger engines 30+, no round seating you cant lay downcomfortably in them... the Lipari helm seat blocks aft port view, all controls should be easy to handle at helm (the l400 has a bit of a problem in that area... just a few thoughts... but all three would be fun to own...

Using the same 3 choices what would one of you wise sea dogs suggest for blue water cruising. Not too performance concerned. For my wife, our toddler and I to cruise Med and possibly bring her home Westward to Asia. Budget is pointing to we equipped 2008/9 boat.

Olivergm,

All three (lagoon 400, FP lipari 41 and Leopard 39) are Water boats">blue water boats, so now its a matter of finding one in your budget.
