50's Americana is my weak spot, I can't say anything objective about them. Or let me put it this way, I'd stay on land for 10 years for a '59 Eldorado Biarritz Convertible...

You can steal my thread for boats like this anytime. Bet this one takes "Boat of the Year" too.
No bimini?
I want more pics of the interior and cockpit.
Great post.

I need some bigger speakers on deck so I can play "Wiipeout" when I pass the monohulls like that. I guess the keelboat wasn't racing, getting smoked like that.

Does no good, in fact they try that on me all the time. I just foot off and pass 'em even faster, to leeward...

...which is the courteous way to do it in the first place.

But I was thinking about doing it just before "mast abeam". Would have made the video title even more appropriate.

This (shade) is one of the most important aspects of design for the tropics. Without it built in a design is compromised even if every aspect is great. If it is not on vessell at present suggests it is afterthought not part of the design.

french revievers don't seem to like them. i recall a review of Switch 55 criticizing its large hardtop bimimi despite it being a practical structure to mount solar and catch water.

Doesn't need a Bimini as it has no stinking outside steering only inside. I can't understand a performance cat without an outside steering station. You can't get a good view of the sails and can't feel the wind.

I see 2 wheels. The winches on the roof were the giveaway. That's 4 steering positions outside.

The only pic I can find of a wheel on the outside of a Gunboat is on a 62' and the wheel is on the opposite side of the bulkhead from the inside wheel. Not really useable for any long term sailing. On the Gunboat at the Miami show there was only one wheel that I saw and that was the inside steering station. Could you post the pics of the 4 outside steering stations for me Bob?

You are probably wrong about that, but multiple steering stations are not a bad idea. I have a plywoood Wharram, not carbon fiber, and I have a wheel on deck, a wheel in the pilothouse, and removeable emergency tillers at each rudder head. That's 4 possible steering positions and I wouldn't want to give up any of them.
