She is still looking for a decent new name ;-)

The name should express:

-Internationality
-Dynamism & sportivity
-Love to nature
-Femininity
-Beauty
-Endevourism

any good ideas? It should be easily spelled and pronounced on top!

I love the names Traveller or Aquarius, but they are the names of to many boats already.

Thanks!

Sorry but I barely know what some of those means. But then I named my current boat "rubber ducky".

In this case it sounds like you should name it after your wife etc! Good Luck!

I must admit it does not roll off the tongue so easy and some people will pronounce it as Jessab but I can live with that.

Re: Boatname needed!

Hi,

good thoughts so far!

Maybe it helps if I refine my "guidelines".

-Internationality
(This stands from the dream of exploring new shores, for me this is what cruising is all about. The long stretches offshore are ok but not my primary reason for cruising)
-Dynamism & sportivity
(I love sailing in a sporty manner and am willing to sacrifice some comfort for it)
-Love to nature
(I love the beauty of nature with all its mysteries & beautiful sights)
-Femininity
(Her captain, myself, is a women after all!)
-Beauty
(I love esthetics and style)
-Endevourism
(Maybe tenacity fits better, if I want to achieve something, I go a stretch for it. I want my boat to do the same for me).

More ideas?

Re: Boat Name Needed!

How about Panthalassa?

That was the ancient enormous ocean that surrounded the supercontinent of Pangea before continental drift broke it up 250 million years ago and formed the seven seas.

And Thalassa by itself can refer to a primordial sea goddess.

Good luck, and let us know when you finally paint a name on the transom!

Re: Boat Name Needed!

Well, I would call the boat "Trias" after the geologic sediments found throughout Germany (especially those happy copper beds), but then I am a geologist and named my boat Cambria, after the period containing the first visable signs of life...

Re: Boat Name Needed!

Acts 27:13-15
"And when the south wind blew softly, supposing that they had obtained their purpose, loosing thence, they sailed close by Crete.
14 But not long after there arose against it a tempestuous wind, called Euroclydon.
15 And when the ship was caught, and could not bear up into the wind, we let her drive." KJV

I named a fishing boat I once had "Euroclydon"... (pronounced " YOU-ROCK-LI-DON" thought it a great name, but not quite what I was looking for when it comes to our current vessel...

Good luck in your quest...

Re: Boat Name Needed!

Hi,

many good ideas & many thanks.

Still, I am leaning to

Yakamoz

, which is the Turkish word, describing the beautiful moment when the moon reflects in the sea. It also stands for the mystic bioluminescense we sometimes find in tropic waters.

Alternatives would be:

Tenacious Lady
Blue Tenacity
Aquarius
Trimystyle (Wordgame from Trimaran, Boat restyling..)

Any more thoughts?

As an enthusiastic Lord of the Rings fan, I would name her "Galadriel".
