Catamarans are increasing its share on the cruising market and Bavaria, the 2th world builder made a move regarding its overall offer: Now they have cats in their group. They have bought the French company Nautitech.

I believe Bavaria is the first of the big ones to do that but soon all the major boat manufacturers will have a line with cats. They are there to make money and the cat market, specially condo cats, is on the increase.

Comet has also started to make cats and has their monohulls are way more sportive than the Bavarias, the same applies to their cats regarding the Nautitech.

In the end it will be a good thing for the ones that want a cat: more cats means more production and less costs. Being made by a big manufacturer helps too because there are facilities that are common and there are common material that is common and that will provide a scale economy.

Note: I don't use the word condo cat in a pejorative way, just to tell them apart from performance cats. Buyers of performance cats want performance as the main priority, buyers of condo cats want space and having a nice view as first priority.
