Ballpark $$ for standing rig on a 10 year old 40' cat?
Not sure if boat-make has any significant impact, either Leopard or FP. Work would be done in Florida. Also what to expect for downtime?
Thanks for any help.

In Australia for a 38ft cat renewing an 8 wire cutter rig and front beam striker was $4800 AUD back in 2014. Professional yacht riggers came and disconnected the wires, came back 2 days later and reconnected. This did not include charge for lowering/raising the mast.

Thanks. Why is the mast lift not included - not done or priced separately?

Mast was taken off as boat was being re sprayed in a shed, so no separate quote for the mast up/down - all part of the haul out costs.
On another boat the cost of attaching the stays and diamonds and putting the mast up on a Lagoon 450 - $1500 USD in 2015 a more complicated rig though.

Re: Ballpark $$ for standing rig on a 10 year old 40' cat?
I had the rigging on my 2004 Lagoon 380 replaced in May, 2017 at Oyster Pond, St. Martin. Cost of labor and materials was $1,500 US. Mast stayed in place and the job took about two days.
Today's challenge: Oyster Pond was totally destroyed by Irma and the independent workforce then living there in support of Sunsail and Moorings has migrated to other places.

We are putting new standing Rigging on a lagoon 45 right now in Fiji. I have figured with out the seagull striker all up $7500.00us.tbe mast will stay standing for the rerig. Westside Rigging uses Hamma wire (Kos) and regatta swage fittings. That includes the labor.

Mast up and down in Norfolk, VA was $600 + riggers time in 2017.
Cheers,

Re: Ballpark $$ for standing rig on a 10 year old 40' cat?
Perfect timing for this question for me as it's time to re-rig my 48ft cat in the San Francisco Bay area. Anyone know of multi specialists around here? Sorry if this is considered "hijacking".

Re: Ballpark $$ for standing rig on a 10 year old 40' cat?
Replaced the entire rig on my 40ft catamaran 3 years ago in Florida (Key West). However I DIYed the whole thing with parts from Rigging Only. It was an enjoyable and easy job (Rigging Only is awesome).
Cost for everything (wire, swagging, turnbucles, ect) was about $3000usd. Cost to raise and lower the mast was $500usd.

Re: Ballpark $$ for standing rig on a 10 year old 40' cat?
I too re-rigged our 46' cat using wire and mechanical end fittings from Rigging Only. I don't recall the exact cost but somewhere in the region of $3K to $4K for 14mm cap shrouds and 12mm diamonds with Hi-mod terminals. Costs for a 40' would be quite a bit cheaper as, once you get above 12mm wire size the costs go up exponentially. However you choose to do this, be sure you get quality wire. This is getting harder to find and not all professionals use the good stuff. If you use mechanical terminals the cost to re-do the rig in 10 years will be very cheap and you don't have to worry about poor swages.

Re: Ballpark $$ for standing rig on a 10 year old 40' cat?
I just priced the rigging parts only from US Spar for my FP Salina 48. $9700 plus install.
I would be careful about who you have install the rigging. The rig tension on a cat is not the same as a mono, and many riggers will want to overtension your rig. Get someone with cat experience.
