So it looks like my best bet may be to head over to the Bahamas for a two stroke Mercury. Anyone recommend a good dealer there.

If you want a 2-stroke, the Bahamas are the easiest for you. I would get the Yamaha over the Mercury. The Mercury is the same as the Tohatsu, so go for price between those two.

For what it is worth, a Suzuki 20hp 4-stroke weighs only 8lbs more than the Yamaha Enduro or Tohatsu/Mercury 15hp 2-stroke you will get in the Bahamas. It costs the same, has 5hp more power and you can have it shipped to your doorstep for free.

There is a dealer in Nassau. The motor come in a box delivered to your boat.

If you can wait till Georgetown, get it there. Minns Watersports. They will unpack and check the engine, mount it on your dink and service it (check everything, tighten head bolts, new bottom end lube etc) after the run in period. All included in the purchase price. Minns charge $150 more than Nassau and that includes the freight from Nassau but with the service it's a bargain. I'm talking about a 15hp Yamaha 2 stroke.

Plus if you want to get rid of your old engine a good market in GT.
