Oh Richard, where is your sense of adventure? Where is your sense of humor? Personally I've learned and laughed.

Re: Atlantic Delivery

Boatie--

Thanks so much for some feedback on the 440. Much appreciated! Lots of which we kind of already wondered about and I believe we think along the same lines for convenience to the helm, etc. Boom height has always been a worry as both of us are vertically challenged as well. We however are suckers when we are sitting so high and enjoying the sights! We are in the middle of selling our house (under contract, gone through inspections and now just waiting to sign on the dotted line) and were looking at selling our mono to purchase a 440. Not because of this thread (house didn't sell for what we wanted) we are sticking for now with our '02 Jeanneau 43DS. Had an annoying as heck noise no one could figure out for 9 months (turns out- going in for our haul out it was a loose zinc, but coming out of the haul out it was a brand spanking new spur cutter that totally DUPLICATED the sound- who woulda guessed that coincidence?) but now its solved and I/we love our boat again and don't need to spend more $$ right now on the multi. Glad to hear, though, that you're not knocking the boat at all- I believe every boat has its shortcomings at some point, and all have something the others don't offer.

Anyway-- I have to tell you I don't post too much but seem to follow you a lot somehow. I don't think you ever meant this thread to turn into this-- who ever would have thought everyone here would follow your every move?! Just have to say, though, if we were wanting a boat delivered-- you would be our first choice- no questions asked.

Oh.. and regards the JP thing... personality clash between an Islander and a stoic Dutchman...
He's a good contact for troubled sailors coming this way.. so don't let our fallout influence you.. make your own decision when you get here..
We've clinked a bottle or two and kissed and made up.. 'Metaphorically'
