Re: Atlantic Delivery

Well done, Atoll and J.P.

I hope and trust that facts will not turn out to be stranger than fiction.

Or at least, than some of the reality TV / soap opera castles in the air which have infested this thread.

Re: Atlantic Delivery

So glad that all is OK, I was worried that JP would run out of ambient light and have to wait until Morning....
Awesome Job .....can't wait to hear what happened (episode II of the Atlantic Delivery Thread)

Re: Atlantic Delivery

JP found him at 48 miles from horta, currently towing him in,the bugger has 2 female crew on board!

eta in horta about 11pm utc.

has a problem with the main and unable to raise it,or torn not sure.
only using half the genoa so probably torn as well

had a problem with the alternators on the engines,
batteries are shot,
generator stopped working about a week ago

was surprised to see JP(untill he mentioned me) but sounds like he is a happy man to be finally making port, he might even make it to cafe sport before closing time.

will phone phil later once they get in

Re: Atlantic Delivery

Well done by JP and his crew. Atoll you did right again in getting the tow arranged and getting it out to Boaty. What is this about 2 female passengers? Are they on Boaty's or Jp"s? If on Boaty's he is surely tired about now...........LOL

Re: Atlantic Delivery

That's a pretty good list of broken crap. But it is certainly within the normal wear and tear one could expect on an ocean crossing especialy on a vessel that hasn't made that kind of passage in a long time. And none of it can be blamed on bad skippering. Boaty just worked the bugs out for the owner. It will be a dependable vessel when it gets to its destination.

Fine job of limping that boat along as far as he did.

Re: Atlantic Delivery

his message said he couldn't raise the main because of electrics. All and all, way to funny from the start. Cant wait for him to finish up this thread. The stories will be better than prime time TV
