If I have the boat right then a sail boat will be the towboat. Correct?

Good deal! Perhaps they will make it in by early AM the next day. That spot has proved quite useful. I imagine Boatman standing on deck as the tow boat comes into sight sayin " damm, what took you so long?" Or " another couple days and I could have quit cigarette's for sure".

Quit complainin' wasn't easy for me either!
on closer inspection it looks like he is already on the fuel dock just in front of the white marina building,i can just about see the ketch rig.

Atoll, would be cool if your friend had a spot tracker he could share with us so we can watch the drama unfold. We already have live coverage of the webcam. Lol poor boatman has no idea he signed up for a reality show.

Maybe AIS B ??? 7 targets in Horta, none appear to be JP's vessel...

You may want to put the rescue on hold, he has turned and is making a bee line for Horta. I don't know the speed but it sure looks good.

He's 71 miles away now.
